My experience living and working in small towns, big cities, and third world countries has broadened my worldview and instilled in me a desire to be part of the larger effort toward equity in our world. I am a proficient Spanish speaker and occasionally translate and interpret for my city’s large group of Spanish-speaking immigrants. I am especially committed to working on social justice issues within immigrant communities.
I am a proud member of St Paul’s vibrant East Side where I have been an active volunteer in a number of community programs including Early Childhood Education (ECFE), St Paul Parks and Recreation, and Nokomis Montessori Magnet School. My recent work as a Racial Justice Facilitator with the YWCA Minneapolis inspires me to keep working for a just society. My family and I enjoy the kaleidoscope of cultures that keep our neighborhood hopping. Community is a value we embrace and celebrate!
