The Through Line –
Resources for Hope
Part 5 of a Weekly October Series on Hope

Over the past month, I’ve shared a tour of my T-shirts—stories stitched with leaders, movements, land, music, and community. Each shirt carries a reminder that hope isn’t soft or easy; it’s scarred, scrappy, and still shows up.
Looking back, it might seem like this has been a story about T-shirts. But really, it’s a story about relationships—the through-line that makes hope possible. At Better World Partners, one of our core values is that relationships matter, and this series has shown me again and again how true that is.
And because hope needs tending, I want to leave you with a handful of resources: practices, places, and communities that can help sustain hope for the long haul.
Resources for Hope
If you’re looking for practices, communities, or reminders that help sustain hope in hard times, here are a few to explore:
- Indigenous Roots – A community arts and activism hub based in Saint Paul.
- Waḳan Ṭípi – Dakota sacred land in St. Paul.
- Cinamon Kills First – Cinnamon offers an Indigenous-centric perspective on education, healthcare, and healing.
- My Grandmother’s Hands -Dr. Resmaa Menakem – a body-centered approach to racial healing.
- Embodying Antiracism-cohort — A local somatic practice cohort.
- Vigil to End War -WAMM (Women Against Military Madness)— weekly vigils for peace and justice.
- The Art of Saving Democracy: An Action Kit for Making Change– A new, nonpartisan civic renewal initiative designed to inspire and equip Americans to actively participate in our democracy, written by Emmy Award–winning journalist Na Eng for People For the American Way.
- The Happiness Gym at Mixed Blood Theater – An experience that will leave you hopeful, joyful and full of gratitude! Runs November 6- December 7.
- BothAnd Collective – A nonprofit network of practitioners who support lifelong learning and organizational health.
- Better World Partners Coaching— because we believe relationships matter, and we find hope in community.
- And if you’re looking for some fresh inspiration for your own drawer, check out the BetterWorld Partners Shop—where T-shirts like “Grace for You, for Me” and others remind us to carry hope into our everyday lives.
✨ Takeaway: Hope isn’t soft or easy. It’s scarred and scrappy, it gets back up after being knocked down, and it keeps showing up.
These are the shirts—and the values—I return to most often. But hope doesn’t stop here. Keep watching, keep connecting, and keep finding your own reminders of where hope lives.
